Dr. Ed Scharfenberger, D.M.D.

Dr. Ed received an undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University in Biology. He went on to follow in his father's footsteps and received his doctorate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1991. He continues attending advanced post-doctorate education.

Dr. Ed is a long-time member of St. Edward Church. He has been the President of the Louisville Dental Society and a member since 1991, as well as a member of the Kentucky Dental Association. He also has volunteered his services for many years with Smile Kentucky, providing dentistry to those children in our area who are in the greatest need of oral care. His volunteerism also spans to the people of Panama and Guatemala during mission trips. Not only did he perform dental procedures but he got his hands dirty helping to build a school for the children of Guatemala. Dr. Ed has been married over 30 years with two accomplished adult children.

Dr. Nicholas M. Scharfenberger

Dr. Nicholas M. Scharfenberger received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Capital University, Columbus, OH, while being a student athlete all four years.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Society. 

Dr. Nick has been involved in the J-town community since he was a child.  He has been a Parrish member and attended school at St. Edward Catholic School, J-town. He also a graduate of St. Xavier High School, Louisville.  Dr. Nick has logged many hours in the dental clinic at ULSD as well as, doing two trips to serve the people of Guatemala.  Some of our patients have already met Dr. Nick when he completed his AHEC program at this office.

Dr. Keegan S. Bakus

Dr. Keegan S. Bakus received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Minor in Business, both from the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Keegan has been practicing Dentistry for over ten years in the Kentucky and Indiana area. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the Louisville Dental Society. He continues to attend advanced postdoctoral education programs. He has also done volunteer work as a Dentist in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Dr. Keegan has been married for over 10 years and has two beautiful children. He is also an active member of the Southeast Christian Church.
